So what was the word to say "now"? Do you remember that word? It's similar. "Now".

Nu.

So how do you say: "I want to speak now", "I want to speak now"?

Jag vill tala nu.

So, "I want" - jag vill, "to speak now" - tala nu.

So, to say "tomorrow", you would say: i morgon. You remember that "today" was i dag. To say "tomorrow", you would say: i morgon, i morgon. So how would you then say: "can we speak tomorrow"?

Kan vi tala i morgon? Kan vi tala i morgon?

And you may hear that Swedish people when they speak they tend to omit some of the sounds, so you may hear: kan vi tala i morgon?" without the g. "Can't we speak now?" So think about "can we speak now", and then you need to negate it.

"Can't we speak now?" Kan inte vi tala nu?

And of course here we said you had an option. You could put the "inte" before the "vi" or after the "vi", but it needs to be after the changed verb. So the verb is kan - to can, that's kan, and after that you have inte. Kan inte vi tala nu?

Or you can also say: kan vi inte tala nu?

Okay, so how do you say this sentence, which may sound complex, but I think you'll be able to get it: "I want to be able to speak Swedish".

So what you need to think about is to be able. That word is the same as "to can", which in Swedish, if you may have forgotten, is att kunna, kunna. So how do you say, "I want to be able to speak Swedish"?

Jag vill kunna tala svenska. Jag vill kunna tala svenska. And you may hear the "jag", the g fall out: Jag vill kunna tala svenska.

Okay, so how do you say, "What can you do?" And here, you need to remember that "what" is vad, vad.

Vad kan du göra? Vad kan du göra? What can you do? We know how to say a lot of things at this point. We know how to say "to do". Do you remember how to say "to do"?

Att göra. What about "to be able to"? Or "to can", even though you can't say that in English.

Att kunna. "To want"? Att vilja. Att vilja. "To eat"?

Att äta. What about "to be"?

Att vara. And finally, "to speak"?

Att tala. And you can also say prata, it's a different word, but it also means to speak. Okay, so if we want to use this, how would you do that? So for instance, you want to use "to do", as in "he does" or "I do". How would you say that in Swedish?

How would you say, "I do"?

"I do" would be jag gör. So you need to say gör when you're using it in the present form. So, what's the present form of "to be able to", or "to can"?

kan, as in jag kan, han kan, hon kan. And then "to want", how would you say that in the present form? vill "Eat"?

äter, äter And what about "to be"? Like he is, I am.

är, jag är, han är. And then finally, "speak", as in he speaks.

talar, han talar To say "car", you would say en bil. That would be "a car".

To say "a house", you would say ett hus, ett hus, "a house". So you notice that "car" is en, en bil, but "house" is ett, ett hus. This is very important, because all of these words, they come with either en or ett.

And when you're learning a new word, it's important that you make a mental note of "hmm, is this a ett-word or is this a en-word?" To say "book", "book", you remove one of the O's and you get bok, bok, spelled with one O, en bok, "a book". "A phone" or "a mobile phone" would be en mobiltelefon, "a mobile phone".

To say "night", as in "a night", you would say en natt, "a night".

Similarly, to say "day", as in "a day", you would say en dag.
