Swedish vocabulary for family, cafe and restaurant
What the lesson covers
The lesson focused on practicing Swedish sentence construction and expanding vocabulary. Key vocabulary introduced and reviewed included "bror" (brother), "träffa" and "möta" (to meet), "sakna" (to miss, literally "to lack"), "familj" (family), "café" (cafe), and "restaurang" (restaurant).
Grammatical points covered included forming future tense sentences using "ska" or "kommer att," constructing past perfect sentences with "har" + past participle (e.g., "har träffat"), and flexible placement of adverbs like "redan" (already). The lesson also emphasized common Swedish idioms such as "ligger här" (lies here) for "is situated here," and appropriate prepositions like "i" (in) and "på" (at/on) when referring to locations like cafes or restaurants.

forward and practice a few sentences with the knowledge that we've gained so far. Let's begin with "I am with my brother".
Jag är med min bror. Of course brother is bror. You can also say broder, which is almost the same as in English, brother, broder. But it's more like archaic, like people would speak like that maybe 100 years ago they would say broder. People do still say it.
It's not as common, though, as just saying bror. It's sort of like saying "mother" to your mom in current day English. Like you would say "Mom". You wouldn't say "Mother, can I speak with you?" unless you're being very formal. "I'm going to meet my brother."
The video plays beside a transcript that follows it line by line. Swedish words are underlined; tap one and the video pauses, the meaning appears, and the word goes into your library. At the end there is a five-question quiz written from this exact lesson, and every word can be practised out loud.
