The Swedish verb att skriva (to write)

This lesson practises skriva (to write) in sentences like can you write your name, and revisits hur mycket for how much when asking about cost or quantity. It also builds short dialogues around food preferences and clarifies fråga as both to ask and a question.

What the lesson covers

This lesson focused on practicing Swedish vocabulary and sentence construction, covering phrases related to writing ("att skriva," "jag skriver") and forming sentences such as "Jag skriver en bok" or "Kan du skriva ditt namn?" It also reviewed asking about cost and quantity using "Hur mycket," as in "Hur mycket kostar det?" and "Hur mycket äter du?" The session then built more complex sentences and dialogue, including "Vad vill du äta? Jag vill äta kebab. Vad vill du ha? Jag gillar pizza. Kan vi äta pizza idag?" and emphasized using "vad vill du ha" for "what do you want." Finally, the lesson clarified the use of "att fråga" for "to ask a question" (and "fråga" as a noun for "question") and introduced the verb "systematisera" (to systematize).

How the lesson starts

The opening of the lesson transcript. The rest is in the course, synced to the video.

So we're now going to go on and keep on practicing. We are essentially going to practice some more and see how that goes. So without further ado, let's start.

We've already talked about writing. Do you remember how to say "write", as in "to write"? It's of course att skriva. And how would you say "I write"?

That's of course jag skriver. And then the rest are the same as always.

We're going to practice some sentences. I am writing a book.

Jag skriver en bok.

We are writing a book together.
