Swedish imperatives and location words
What the lesson covers
The lesson covers how to point out objects, give commands, and describe where things are in Swedish. It explains the difference between the static and motion forms of “here” (här, hit) and “there” (där, dit). Learners practice using demonstratives such as denna and detta for “this,” den and det for “this/that,” and dessa, de, dem, and dom for “these/those” and “they/them.” It also shows how to form imperative verbs by using the verb stem, for example kom from att komma, and gives common command examples. The lesson introduces prepositions used to describe location such as på, i, nära, under, and över, along with useful household vocabulary. It highlights pronunciation contrasts like dörr (door) and dör (to die).

How the lesson starts
The opening of the lesson transcript. The rest is in the course, synced to the video.
Let's now learn about demonstrating things, for example, saying here or there, and how to give orders. We've talked about this before, I believe. We're going to repeat this. And then we're going to give a few examples of some common house-related objects, and finally, we intend to talk a little bit more about situating things, what in grammatical terms is called prepositions.
But we don't really care about those terms. We're going to think about how to locate or situate things. Is it on top of something? Is it inside of something, outside of something, and so forth?
So let's begin.
We've seen this table before.
The video plays beside a transcript that follows it line by line. Swedish words are underlined; tap one and the video pauses, the meaning appears, and the word goes into your library. At the end there is a five-question quiz written from this exact lesson, and every word can be practised out loud.
